What is a life coach and what do they do?

Are you looking to focus on yourself? Are you ready to work on your goals? Do you want to nourish your personal development, self-confidence and resilience? Are you not sure how? These are the types of questions that a life coach would ask you, in order to find ways to assist in your personal and/or business development.

What exactly is a life coach?

A life coach helps individuals focus on various aspects of their life through goal setting, creating outcomes and fostering change. The coach is there to provide support and help their clients create solutions. They use a discovery-based framework to create strategies in changing a person’s work or personal life. Such a career has become increasingly popular and in demand in recent years. A life coach’s clients include housewives, managers, administrators and graduate students but these services are appropriate for anyone looking to facilitate a positive change in their life. Companies also hire life coaches. Hiring a life coach at a company can be a major asset; they can help encourage and motivate employees to reach their personal goals in conjunction with company goals.

Individuals seeking a life coach are ready to create a life that aligns with their goals and values.

Life coaches are not created out of thin air. They have training and experience through an accredited training program, such as the International Coach Federation. What was once a past time is now a professional career and life coaches can have incredibly full schedules. As humans, we tend to get stuck in certain parts of our lives. A life coach can help you move in the right direction.

Hiring a Personal Stylist = Winning

hot date outfit from goop.com

Does a personal stylist seem excessive to you? Maybe it’s not so much when you consider how much our physical appearance affects the way we perceive ourselves. It’s common for people to latch onto a comfortable style and not budge for years, sometimes decades.. If this sounds familiar to you, it’s probably time for a big change.

Reality TV is big business. It’s true that Kim Kardashian looks like a million bucks. It is because she has a team of people working for her to ensure that she does. While you probably could not imagine going to hair and makeup after your morning shower, a personal stylist is the average person’s secret weapon.

What Is a Personal Stylist?

In basic terms, a personal stylist helps you develop and implement your image. How do you want people to see you? What makes you feel the most authentic and comfortable?

Still searching for your purpose?

Can you imagine a world where everyone just gets it?

Where everyone just gets everyone else? Where everyone.. even gets themselves! Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Let’s not get too carried away here. I got rid of my Dashiki and suede fringe vest a while ago (just kidding, I’m still waiting for someone to buy them from me on ebay) but that doesn’t mean this isn’t a topic worth discussing.

Purpose. It’s what everybody wants to talk about. Purpose. It’s (apparently) what everyone is looking for. But I have one question: Why? Let’s be honest, this life and this world is pretty surreal. If we haven’t figured out the meaning of it when we were drawing on caves, we probably won’t figure it out now.

Some people feel like they’ve been gifted with a purpose, others feel like God or the Universe forgot to give them a call, or write a letter or send an SMS.

Where do you see yourself at your happiest?

When we think of happiness, everyone’s definition is different.

For some happiness is simple. It could even come down to a single word like: Money, love, travel, more. While there are things we all may want, that we currently do not have, are these things required to be happy now? Are there not things that we could be happy with, in this very moment? “Sure, sure,” some of you may think. “Another self-proclaimed guru here to tell me how I could be happy ‘now’ and don’t need to strive for much more.” But boy, are you wrong. I am all for striving. I am all for doing better, being better and wanting more for yourself. I think we’re all worthy of an evolved life, and of a life of constant evolution. But this happiness thing can be quite the dilemma. I know you may not be where you’d like to be. But what about where you are? I know you may feel it’s far from ideal but isn’t it something?

Does one ever truly heal?

pills, heal, medication, medicine
Some say that they have healed and live better lives for it meanwhile some are perplexed as to how they ever could heal. But what does healing really mean and how much time does one actually want to dedicate to it?

Augusten Burroughs, who has written countless memoirs of his very traumatic childhood, believes that heal is a “TV word,” and that while sounding pretty and ideal, that it is in fact forced and plastic.  The definition of healing is to get better, not to be cured and despite common belief, even to be cured does not imply to be rid of, rather, it implies to be relieved of the symptoms of a disease or condition. It seems as though people have adopted an overly idealistic perspective of what being emotionally healed really means and some will travel far and wide to attain it.
