Joseph Mazzola

Contributing Writer l Long Island, NY

Joseph was born and raised on Long Island, New York. He graduated from UAlbany with a Bachelor’s degree where he studied Psychology, Business, and Sociology. His proclivity towards psychology developed over time, knowing that he wanted to help others and explore how human cognition has not only evolved but continues to change. He is an aspiring creative writer with a humble background.

During his adolescence he began to come into his own through sports, a commitment to perpetual learning, working at the local cinema, and most importantly, in the company of good friends. Not one to be missed at a rock show or a midnight launch, Joe loves music, movies, and gaming. You may also say the works of Stephen King and George R.R. Martin have their hold on him. He’s never been much of an artist, but feels the flow of creativity resonate in his cerebrum and is always looking for ways to channel it.

He is ultimately inspired to do some good in this world, and make his family proud. Random acts of kindness and altruism are something he would like to witness more of. As of a result of the incredible work ethic and care she demonstrates every day, his greatest role model has been his mother. Joseph always had some difficulty answering the question to what he wanted to be when he grew up. Instead, he finds guidance from his passions. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at Hofstra University.

“I believe things happen for a reason. All too often, things can work out in such a remarkable way I’m pressed to believe in fate over coincidence. Even with our advances in science, there’s still so much we don’t know, and that mystery drives me.”
